De Leon, Texas
De Leon lies in western Comanche County, in the rolling farm and ranch country on the edge of the Cross Timbers about 75 miles southeast of Abilene. The surrounding land became a major peanut- and fruit-growing area in the early twentieth century, and Comanche County ranked among the leading peanut-producing counties in Texas. De Leon is also known for its long-running Peach and Melon Festival held each summer.
