Bulverde is a city in Comal County on the southern edge of the Texas Hill Country, roughly 24 miles north of San Antonio. The surrounding landscape is one of limestone hills, oak groves, and the creek valleys of Cibolo Creek. Long a rural ranching area, it has grown with residential development spreading out from the San Antonio metropolitan area.
