Baird, Texas

Baird lies in Callahan County about 20 miles east of Abilene, in the rolling rangeland of West Central Texas where the Callahan Divide rises between watersheds. The country around it is ranching and mixed-farming land dotted with mesquite and oak. The town grew up as a railroad stop along the line running west across the region.
