Anson, Texas

Anson is a city in Jones County, about 23 miles northwest of Abilene on the rolling plains of West Texas. Long an agricultural center in cotton and ranching country, the town is known for the Texas Cowboys' Christmas Ball, a frontier dance tradition rooted in the 1880s and revived in the 1930s, now held each December in Pioneer Hall.
