Williamson County Title Transfers Need the Tax Office Paper Trail

A private vehicle sale in Williamson County needs clean paper on both sides. The county title page separates seller steps from buyer steps, including the signed title, Form 130-U, valid ID, and proof of insurance.

TxDMV says the buyer must title the vehicle within 30 days from the sale date. It also recommends a seller transfer notice, which can help if tolls or tickets appear later.
