Food or drinks served to the public at an Austin-Travis County event usually need a temporary food event permit. The permit runs through Austin Public Health.

The organizer is the key person. Austin Public Health puts food booth permits on the event organizer, not only on the vendor renting a table or truck space. Applications can be handled online or in person.
