Springs Park Stories & local character

San Pedro Springs Park Is One of San Antonio's Deepest Civic Landmarks

San Pedro Springs Park goes back to the 1700s, when the Spanish government set the springs aside for public use. It is San Antonio's oldest park, and the springs helped water the early settlement.

The place is not frozen as a monument. It has a swimming pool, about two miles of trails, sports fields and courts, a playground, a skate plaza, a senior center, restrooms, and Wi-Fi.

For downtown, Monte Vista, Beacon Hill, and San Antonio College, it is an everyday park with three centuries underneath. The pool runs seasonally, so summer and winter visits feel different.
