Reimers Ranch brings the Pedernales River into Travis County life

Milton Reimers Ranch Park shows the Hill Country river side of western Travis County. The park has almost three miles of continuous Pedernales River frontage and is the county's largest parkland acquisition.

The place packs in hiking, more than 18 miles of mountain biking trail, rock climbing, white bass fishing, swimming, and an observatory for star viewing. It feels very different from the Lake Austin and Lake Travis version of the county.

One county heads-up is worth keeping in mind: the walk from parking down to the river is about a quarter mile on a steep grade. The climb back is part of the trip.
