Check Williamson County PID Assessments Before You Buy

A PID charge can show up on a Williamson County tax bill, but it is not the same as regular property tax. A tax break may not lower it. Even a 100 percent disabled veteran exemption does not lower the PID amount.

County notices give PID contacts for places such as Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Hutto, and Leander. The Tax Assessor-Collector usually does not have payoff figures unless the notice says so.

Before buying in a newer subdivision, read the tax bill, title papers, and county PID notice. A lower home value or a tax exemption may not remove a separate PID bill.
