Bexar County Property Taxes Come Due Before February
Bexar County property taxes can sneak up on a new owner. The Tax Assessor-Collector FAQ says taxes are due in October and must be paid by January 31. Mailed payments need a January 31 postmark to count as timely.
The county tax calendar gives the year-specific dates for statement mailings, half payments, and the last day to pay without penalty and interest. Weekends and holidays can move the practical deadline.
If a mortgage company escrows the tax bill, still look up the account before the deadline. BCAD handles value and exemptions; the Bexar County Tax Office handles the bill and payments.
