Medina River Natural Area Adds a Quieter Southside Trail Landscape
Medina River Natural Area is the south side's quieter river park: 511 acres with seven miles of shaded trail along the Medina River. It also has a trailhead, restrooms, a pavilion, and group camping.
Stops along the trail mark El Camino Real, the old wagon road that linked Spanish settlements. A walk here follows the same general travel line used long before nearby subdivisions.
For anyone looking past the central tourist core, this is one of the roomier natural areas San Antonio manages. River shade helps it feel cooler in summer.
