Marriage license Practical

The marriage license belongs on the wedding calendar

The marriage-license window is in the County Clerk's office at 124 W. Beauregard in San Angelo. Application hours can end before the rest of the office closes, so check the current schedule before driving downtown.

Texas usually puts 72 hours between issuance and the ceremony. The law has exceptions and a judge-waiver path, but do not build the wedding morning around one until the clerk confirms it fits. If one person cannot appear, ask about the state's absent-applicant rules well before the wedding week.

The license allows the ceremony. It is not the certified copy people later use for records and name changes. That copy is a separate request after the completed license comes back to the clerk for filing.
