Leon Creek Greenway Connects Parks Across Northwest San Antonio

Leon Creek Greenway is another major piece of the Howard W. Peak Greenway system. The City of San Antonio says its north and central section offers 20 miles of paved multi-use trail, with views of limestone bluffs, wildflower fields, cottonwoods, and heritage trees.

The trail also helps explain northwest San Antonio's park geography. The city lists connections to O.P. Schnabel Park, Bamberger Nature Park, Cathedral Rock Park, Pearsall Park, Earl Scott Pond, and UTSA, and notes that the Ingram Road Transit Center gives direct bus access to the greenway.

For a mover or visitor, that means the creek trail does more than offer recreation. It is a public connector between parks, neighborhoods, the university edge, and west-side transit.
