Alcohol Permit Holders May Owe a Bexar County Fee
A TABC permit may not be the last alcohol step in Bexar County. The Tax Assessor-Collector acts as an authorized TABC agent and handles the local county fee.
After the state permit is in hand, the Tax Office mails a notice to pay the county liquor permit fee. The county describes that fee as generally half of the state amount.
Mixed beverage permits can bring another notice in the third year of operation. For a bar, restaurant, store, or event permit, think of the state permit and county fee as linked pieces.
