Polk County Businesses May Owe a Property Rendition by April 15

A Polk County business may owe tax on desks, tools, computers, machines, or inventory used to earn income. The rendition goes to Polk Central Appraisal District, not to the tax office that collects the bill.

Comptroller Form 50-144 covers business property used to earn income and controlled on January 1. It asks for the business location, owner, property type, and value.

For general business property, the deadline is April 15. Polk CAD's forms page links Form 50-144, a depreciation schedule, and a new-business request. Filing gives the district your list before it has to estimate one.
