Blue Hole Park Is Georgetown's Limestone Swim Spot
Blue Hole Park is Georgetown's in-town swim spot, five blocks north of the Square on North Austin Avenue. It sits along the South Fork of the San Gabriel River, with limestone bluffs around the water.
The park has fishing, picnic areas, restrooms, trail access, wading, and natural-water swimming, with no entry fee and no gear rentals. On a hot afternoon, that is enough to make it a local habit.
River use is at your own risk. Georgetown does not monitor flow or bacteria levels there, and cliff jumping or diving is not allowed, so read the current park rules before planning a swim.
