Woodville is the seat of Tyler County, set in the Piney Woods of deep East Texas about fifty-one miles northwest of Beaumont. The town lies amid the pine and hardwood forests of the region and is known for its spring dogwood blooms, celebrated each year at the long-running Tyler County Dogwood Festival, and for Heritage Village, an open-air collection of restored historic buildings.
