Weatherford, Texas

Weatherford is the seat of Parker County, west of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and about 26 miles west of Fort Worth, where the North Texas prairie begins to give way to hillier ranch country. It is long recognized as the Peach Capital of Texas for the orchards of the surrounding county and is also known as a center of the cutting-horse industry, with many trainers and stables in the area. The Second Empire–style Parker County Courthouse, built of local limestone, stands at the center of its historic downtown square.
