Ross is a small city in McLennan County, about 12 miles north of Waco in the Blackland Prairie of Central Texas. The surrounding country is gently rolling farmland with the dark, fertile soil that has long characterized the region between Waco and the Brazos River. It is a small rural community within the wider Waco area.
