Milford, Texas

Milford is a small town in southern Ellis County, in the Blackland Prairie of North Texas about 41 miles northeast of Waco. Settled in the 1850s in the Mill Creek valley, it became an important shipping point for area cotton farmers after the railroad reached it late in the nineteenth century. The surrounding land remains largely agricultural, given over to row crops and pasture.
