Linden is a city in Cass County in the East Texas Piney Woods, about 42 miles northeast of Longview in the heavily forested northeastern corner of the state. The surrounding country is one of pine and hardwood woodland, small farms, and timberland typical of the region. Linden has long been associated with East Texas musical tradition and holds a courthouse square at the center of the town.
