Set in the Hill Country of Blanco County about 39 miles west of Austin, Johnson City lies amid the rolling limestone hills and live-oak rangeland of central Texas. It is closely associated with President Lyndon B. Johnson, whose boyhood home stands in town and whose nearby ranch anchors the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park.
