Joaquin, Texas

Joaquin is a small community in Shelby County, in the far eastern Piney Woods of Texas near the Sabine River, about 55 miles southeast of Longview. The town lies close to Toledo Bend Reservoir, the large lake formed along the Sabine that defines much of the region's recreation and fishing. Pine timber and forestland dominate the surrounding landscape.
