Hughes Springs, Texas

Hughes Springs is a city in the Piney Woods of far northeastern Texas, in Cass County about 35 miles north of Longview. The town takes its name from mineral springs found by early settlers, and it lies within the East Texas iron ore belt that once fed local furnaces and, later, the region's steel industry. Wooded hills and small lakes surround the community.
