Coldspring is a small city in San Jacinto County, set in the rolling, wooded country of the Piney Woods about 35 miles northeast of The Woodlands and roughly 59 miles from Houston. The surrounding area is heavily forested and lies near the Sam Houston National Forest and Lake Livingston, a large reservoir on the Trinity River.
