Abernathy, Texas

Abernathy lies on the flat, treeless Llano Estacado of the South Plains, about 17 miles north of Lubbock, with the town straddling the line between Lubbock and Hale counties. Set amid the region's cotton and grain fields, it grew up along the railroad as a farming and agribusiness town and remains an agricultural trade center surrounded by cropland and cattle country.
