Quirks & things to watch

  • Mountain lions are now managed more closely: if you trap one, you must check the trap within 36 hours, and they may not be held in canned 'put-and-take' hunts.
  • Bobcat pelts need a CITES tag before they can be shipped or sold out of state.
  • Coyotes can't be sold or moved alive (a rabies quarantine).
  • You can't hunt any wild animal from or across a public road.
