Purser Family Park is Harker Heights' lighted-trail and dog-park anchor
Purser Family Park gives Harker Heights a 35-acre everyday park on West Mountain Lion Road. Its one-mile trail is lighted, which makes it useful before work, after dinner, and during the long hot stretch when people wait for the day to cool down.
The park is built for routine use. It has separate dog-park areas for large and small dogs, plus disc golf, two pavilions, picnic units, playground equipment, and restrooms.
That is the charm here. Purser is not a once-a-year destination. It is the park you can fold into a normal week, whether you need a loop to walk, a place for the dog, or a pavilion for a small gathering.
