A blue placard renewal may not need another medical signature

Disabled parking placards are a TxDMV program, but the application goes through the county tax office. In Tom Green County, TxDMV lists that office at 113 W. Beauregard in San Angelo.

A new blue or red placard uses Form VTR-214. A doctor or other allowed health worker completes the disability statement. A red placard lasts six months or less, while a blue placard can be renewed every four years.

For a blue renewal, TxDMV does not ask for a new medical signature. Submit the new form with a copy of the original application or the expiring placard. A red placard that is still needed requires a new application and medical certification.
